As a relative newcomer to CotN, I may be about to ask an often discussed issue, ( I apologize if it is. ) but I know that there is enough experience out there to answer my question.
I have been playing a "saveas" of Voice of Sobek for over a week. I now have a beautiful city with 18 educated workers but have almost run out of ways to earn prestige. I do not want to leave the city and start another because I like the natural way it has evolved and it's familiarity. Is there a way to bring more excitement to the scenario, or is this just the natural end to a sandbox mode game? Also, I do not want to start a separate thread over this, but I had made a request at the Caesar IV website for preset views. Someone responded that you could establish preset views for CotN. I tried clicking on a building and then pressing Ctrl simultaneosly with a number, and had no success. But through experimentation, I have found that you can restore a view, if you press the number twice. With this technique, it is possible to jump from the palace to a storage area at a mine instantly. ( it does not seem to work for quarries) I did a search on the threads and could not find any other mention of this incredible tool. |

You can continue to quary/import to build monuments, statues & pyramids for more prestige, or build Sphinx statues & mastabas outta bricks. As far as more excitement, try mass deleting a bunch of buildings. Save the city & move on to a new scenario. You can always come back to it later. |

I played Voice of Sobek and used up all the accomplishment monuments (obelisks, steles) too, but was able to keep growing prestige through building many small pyramids and many small and large sphinxes and statues.
So you have the option to continue the city and expand it as you wish in interesting ways. It depends on what your goals for the sandbox are. As MarkDuffy says, you may be ready to try another scenario. By definition, sandbox goals are up to you since there are no game-imposed win conditions. There's another thread discussion going on here about why play CotN with user as well as game-imposed win conditions. |

You can always set yourself a goal of building a city as magnificent as one of MAX-1's creations. [Good luck!]
