Question Roman Catapults

I need some help with a presentation about roman catapults. The presentation needs to include a general history of roman catapults (and maybe a few battles they influenced) It needs a description of how they work. AND I NEED TO BUILD A WORKING MODEL in three weeks I have found some relevent information about them But I don't know how to build them or even where to look for diagrams of them. Im a fish outta water here! I was hoping somebody could help me find a website. it would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it may help you make your model

Will I be able to export my extra COTN basalt statue blanks to use in my C4 catapults, or will I have to mine them again?

Bonus smirk

I also have some extra ones a doctor helped me extract from my head. Those musta been from King's prior research.

Here is a link for a book on how to build an Onager.

http://www.rlt.com/mangonel/manuscript/

I used to have the title of a book that had instructions and the history of all ancient siege weapons. Was going to get it, though the wife gave me the "when are you going to use it speech," so I didn't buy it. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the name of the book.

Here is the book I was thinking of:

The Art of the Catapult: Build Greek Ballistae, Roman Onagers, English Trebuchets, and More Ancient Artillery

A simple one (balistae) can be made from a metal coat hanger.

Bend it in half ( 2 pointy ends of hangar brought together, but leave them spaced about 4 inches across)

The original flat edge becomes the throwing arm (you may have to bend a bit to increase the springyness) and the part with the hook will be the base.

Bend and twist the hook around so that when the throwing arm is pulled down it interlocks and holds the arm in place (adjust it so that it only has to be moved a little to release the arm).

Put tape across the end of the arm to form a cup to hold things to throw.

I does tend to throw in a high arc, but what do you want from something you can make in about a minute????

I have tried to convince my wife to let me build a medium sized one. (capable of tossing a melon or jar of flaming goodness)

However, she immediately vetoed the idea and threatened me with bodily harm, a move to the comfort of the dog kennel, and with holding of certain activities... sheesh, women.

Besides, it's not like I'd set it up in the middle of the street to see if I could hit the bastard's house with the annoying, barking dogs.

Damn Angelisis - I need to move to Australia if it rains beer.

That is actually a pretty unique and amusing commercial, BTW.
