The night sky

Postby Psylocke » Sun Jun 14, 2009 3:22 pm

I know it worked perfectly on my last computer, but I don't remember if it worked when I installed CotN on the current one, it was too long ago. xD (started to re-play it this week after a ~2 years absence) Anyways, the night sky isn't working and I really miss it. :/

Also, the fonts doesn't work after updating to Enhanced Edition.

Any help would be really appreciated! :)

You were lucky if you got it to work before, because the game requires a DX9 compliant video card and the NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE is only DX8 compliant.

You need a newer DX9 video card.

I'm leaving out any tech issues here but the Sun and Moon seems to have been lost with the update to 1.3.01. but you should see some stars. If you can see stars but no sun and moon then that's all there is now

High Graphics

Postby Ladymame » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:54 pm

With the Alexandria expansion (which has the patch built in), I have no moon or sun, but i do have a very bright sky area where the sun should be.

Although I keep asking to dl DX10, after the dl, I find they keep giving me the latest DX9. If I then change the graphics settings to custom and set SkyDetails to high I can get clouds and stars, but that's it. I suggest setting shadows to fixed or none and the other graphics to one setting below best, otherwise the game gets very choppy movement.

The Sun's no big deal as it's usually to high up to see anyway, but the Moon...beautiful and sorely missed.

Well, that's good to know; I'll stick with 9. It seems 10 is in the same league as Vista and Explorer 8. Those are a horrer to lots of folks including me. I removed them both and am much better off with their predessors. :)
