Alexandria crashes when I click first icon to start.

Postby Ashkir » Tue Jan 05, 2010 2:07 pm

First campaign of Alexandria causes it to crash, I cannot even play. The game has also been randomly crashing on other campaigns. And or freezing. My computer is a gaming built computer.

And many more...

This is the first game to have crashed. =/. I usually play mmorpgs on this computer though. But I have played Spore, Zoo Tycoon, and Call of Duty without problems.

Are you running the game as an administrator?

Did you install DX 9c? The files contained in DX 9c are required since they are missing from DX 10 and Dx 11.

What is the function BEX? for some reason I have a feeling BEX has something to do with DRM but I really have no idea why I feel that.

I would un-install everything and then re-install the package COTN/Alexandria.

Make sure to grab and protect all your saved games just in case the un-install wants to snip the folder (I do not think it does but better safe than sorry).

Here is a link searching on "What is a BEX error"

Looks like there are a few reasons/causes for this error.
