So what is next?

Postby shirley0910 » Sat Nov 17, 2007 1:30 pm

Since the new baby is out and about.. I know you guys have to tweak and put out patches.. what is the next big thing? Any hints as to the next game you have in development? Of course it won't be out until next year, but if SCS doesn't do as well as planned, you may want to throw us a bone for the moment..lol

Now, that's funny! I was planning on starting just such a thread as this, right down to the title!

I'm wondering the same thing.

I hope that Tilted Mill will do next what it does best and create a new game based on an original TM design. One thing I would love to see is maybe a CoTN 2, but it may be even more interesting if they broke completely new ground and produced an entirely new game.

I can't wait to see the game announcement!

INHO, Tilted Mill does much better when they remain independent. I believe their creativity needs freedom to fully express itself, something it can't do when they are being paid to produce someone else's game.

John-SJ, you said what I was thinking of. Another CoTN style game, more refined and tuned, set in an ancient culture, perhaps not in Egypt. Me too, I can't wait to see a game like that announcement! :)

I've been mulling over my 'next TM project' game thread for weeks.

I'm going to say TM should do 'TIE-Fighter'.

I am hoping for a Aztec city builder.. or maybe Mayan. Incan would make more sense for them to do along these lines, but I think the appeal o Aztec and Maya would do better in General.. not to mention I eally want to hear what a Mayan Ball player would say on his way to a game :D Considering the cost of loosing heh.

I'd like a city-builder game with role-playing aspects one of these days. :)

The next game in the Immortal Cities line perhaps? Not specifically a CotN sequel since that would make it three games based on Egypt (counting Pharaoh of course). There are many other ancient civilizations begging to be made into a city builder. :D

Pharoah is not part of the Immortal Cities line (if there is actually going to be a "line".)

Lots of cultures to choose from. Many threads have been posted over the years with what people would like to see. Only time will tell.

True, but I said it was a game based on Egypt. :)

Pharaoh was the first building game I bought, I played it for over 2 years every day. The Cleoprata extention still has some of the best (prettiest) buildings I have seen in any game. ie the Lighthouse, the library at Alexandria
and the tombs carved in the sides of the mountains. I have played other building games but the only one that comes close (imho)to it is Cotn.

*cough*

Mah most recent beg to TM for an "Earth, the CB game" that covers much more than just one civilzation for their next project here.

Never too early to start the grovelling. Just don't forget to buy SCS! :D

<ducking>

Pharaoh and Cleopatra are my first love what comes to CB games. I played them well over a year and no other games. :)
Try them out if you have the chance.

Are you hinting something? In a way it is good I had this old 'romu' with win98 but I very much like to have my new PC right now and not next week. Everythings loads so slooooowly that I suspect this might be 'going away' too soon. :(

My Windows 98 'romu' plays COTN on fairly high graphics with virtually no lag o_0 strange considering it was last upgraded in 99
