Great Sound Compiler

Postby Yahya » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:29 pm

For those of you interested, **COUGH - thegrad**, **COUGH - Karter**, I just found a great, free compiler which you can use to layer audio files.

I plan to use it for trailers, to add voices over the top of music and sound effects, but the sample principles could be used for a customized game track.

You can get it from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/.

It will export to .WAV files by default, but to export to .MP3 you need to download lameenc.dll and add it to you Windows/System directory.

If you're not interested in this, then that's ok also. :D

:)

Thanks, will check it out
Here is what I have used for years now, seems to do the job, I don't know if it is VISTA compatible though

It is free to use, but the freebie only allows you 150 operations and then you have to save your file and reopen, other than that, it is completely operational
