New Sphinx Texture File

Postby Keith » Fri Jun 04, 2010 6:51 pm

I've never liked the Great Sphinx appearance in COTN. To me it looks kind of creepy and the colors don't look right or inspiring.

Recently I watched a PBS program called "Riddles of the Sphinx" and they delved into things like who constructed it, how it was made, what it originally may have looked like and what it looked like 1000 years later after Tutmoses IV's restoration, etc.

In the segment about the Tutmoses restoration they provided a hypothetical extrapolation of what the Sphinx may have looked like fully painted.

I have endeavoured to create a texture for COTN that approximates the same appearance:

Just replace the original sphinx_3x3.DDS file with this new one. Be sure to rename your orignial file to something like sphinx_3x3.old first.

Amazing. Looks more authentic and less like Michael Jackson. :D

That looks fantastic Keith!
I once saw that actual sphinx reconstruction on the history channel (think it was the history channel)
GOOD JOB!

At least this mod didn't seem to be affected with any changes or deletions from the Alexandria module, unlike my Red Temple1 v.2 mod.
