Reign of Ptolemy II-Philadelphus ( peaceful edition)

Postby tomnobles » Sat Jan 17, 2009 1:43 am

For Alexandria City Pac only.

You will take the Egyptian name, Meryamun Setepenre, which means "Beloved of Amun, Chosen of Re". Your reign can be viewed only as successful, with the expansion of your possessions around the Mediterranean, the internal stability in Egypt, and the fulfillment of many of your father's imaginative projects, such as the Pharos Lighthouse and the Alexandrian University and Library.

You have control of trade on the Mediterranian. It is time to shift your concentration on the upper Nile and the

Oasises of the western desert, the "Forty Days Road" and eastern trade. You'll also need to appease the gods by thiting,

restoring their temples and building new ones.

. Secure trade routes between the oasises
. Secure the "Forty Days Road"
. Restore cult temples for your people
. Secure trade routes to Tyre and Babylon

For those of great ambition, the Great Lighthouse & Great Library have been unlocked.

It´s for the Library. You´ll need to let them haul bronze, too :)

I am only now playing the Alexandria scenarios, so I can do some stuff. But I am not very innovative. :p What do you have in mind?

For the Great Library; Gold, Copper, Emeralds & Cedar is hauled on sledges.

Gems & mineralds are also in baskets in the DOP.

Fascinating, tomnobles. First image is no change, but the new gold sleds remain in the DOP (or is that a SA)? Interesting...

Thank you! :)

Sledges appear in DOP's when que'd for the building (Lighthouse\Library), otherwise just baskets of gold, etc.

Win!

It got a bit long in the end waiting for all those emissaries.

But otherwise nice scenario, beatiful map, way too few cows ;)

Sorry, win screen was eaten :(

Thanks. I intended for you to import leather. :)

I noticed when I tested it, they got way too much leather from one cow.

Yes, I did that very quickly as more and more sites wanted armor ;)

I think there were new ones spawned everytime one got killed. But they still weren´t enough. There were two, right? I think you balanced this quite well. :)

Unless you make all desert terrain (or lack of specific vegetation, not sure), it is really hard to stop the game from auto-creating at least one harvestable cow. ;)

Also, Editor-spawned cows usually cannot be harvested. Perhaps there is a different way to spawn cows that work, I just haven't seen it done yet.

I experienced this with every editor-spawned ressource. Destroyed my original scenario idea pretty thoroughly :(

But cows make this thing interesting... If you trigger the spawning frequently, one could flood an entire map with undestroyable cows

Gone to the lab :D

Thanks -- a great map

Hope you like the city -- this is easily the largest city I have built (48 nobles) There is nothing wrong with the winscreen -- I tend to get lost in the building and forget the objectives -- the libraries take a while.

Thanks clayson4908. Nice large city and you answered a question posed eariler, can more than one wonder be built? You also found the spot I made for the lighthouse.

Abu Qir & Abu Sir are two different cities.

Nice city and thanks again.
