Santorin Refuge

Postby Elizabethus » Thu Jun 24, 2010 12:09 am

There has been an earthquake and associated tidal wave in the Mediterranean Sea near the Island of Santorin.
Many people have perished.............
Here is a challenge for you Pharaoh.

Thank you tomnobles for the magnificent pics of your city!
I am so enjoying creating scenarios and it is great to know that you found this latest one challenging. I'm learning all the time (mostly through experimentation :) )
My next one...... :) hopefully will be an island and this is really causing a few headaches.
Thanks again for your feedback.

There was an island scenario but I can no longer find it. Maybe Tinkerbell could upload it if he has it. Can't remember the name but I remember playing it. The enhanced version and my machine just don't get along in scenario making. With Alexanderia, I have absolutely no problems with drawing any type river even with islands.

I believe most players have Alexanderia anyway.

My Alantis is an island, as is Oceana: The Jewel of the Mediterranean by NumakNatut III. thegrad has several island scenarios also.

Islands are tough (with pathing issues)! I had to make a tiny edge of map land bit or raiders would not spawn for example.

I am sooo far behind on your scenarios, Elizabethus! Still on Mbizi Oasis (almost finished) & still have your most recent 20 or 30 to go. :D

...and loving them...

Oceana: The Jewel of the Mediterranean - that's the one I was thinking of, thanks.

Like you Tinkerbell I have found the same problems with raiders and those funny little donkeys! Putting a small piece of land makes all the difference. Oceana and Atlantis were both enjoyable scenarios.
Is there anyway at all that we can entice the raiders to come to an Island with no land at the edge?

Ah yes, Donkeys too. I just didn't use them in Alantis for that very reason ~ all trade via boats. Also, if the tiny land bit is too small, they spawn & immediately run off the map.

I'm trying to remember if the same issue happened with immigrating nobles? Probably. NumakNatut III begins Oceana with Townhomes already there & took care of that one.

No, not that I could tell. Gots to have the spawn area next to the edge of the map. Then they build reed boats for the rest of the journey.

Hope that helps!

Dug out CotN two days ago and downloaded Alexandria for a few €uros.
Your scenario was a very nice one to play! Muchas gracias! :)
