Can't download files

Postby texasmine » Mon Apr 30, 2012 4:56 pm

I've been away for a while, in part because I've been playing Pharaoh/Cleo again. It appears a great many of the mods and scenarios have been removed from the servers. I need all the Elizabethus scenarios, RJG's Floating Pyramid, Tinkerbell's Farmville, and on and on.

When my old computer crashed, I lost everything I hadn't put on a disc, so ONCE AGAIN, I'd appreciate your help.

Since you were gone many the the pictures and files have been lost due a change in server made last year. It is also harder to upload lost files now, because the board's upload feature is still turned off (to combat spammers) so off-site upload storage sites have to be used and links to those files on those sites have to be provided to interested parties here. Mediafire and Microsoft's SkyDrive offer free file storage and allow you to share links with others.

Someone else posted this partial solution a few weeks back but you can get some scenarios from Heaven Games here: mostly Tom Nobles and the late Grad.

I don't have any, but someone else probably does.

Hi Texasmine, I will check through my backups to see if I have "The Floating Pyramid" scenario. I am not sure I backed any of that stuff up knowing I could always get it from the Tilted Mill.

As soon as I get a few minutes, I will check and let you know. I would think someone still has them all.

I have the following on my PC:

Giza Complete, by Jimaaten
Sancturary: Kharga Oasis, by Nyarlahotep
Seven Fat Seven Lean, by Jimaaten
Sheshong's Redemption, by ??
The Hyksos Pharaoh, by ??
Thutmosem III - 1, by tomnobles
Valley of Tranquility, by Elizabethus

I will put these onto HG for download, and link the download shortcuts in the original threads. There are two there marked ??, because I can't find the original thread. I don't think those are included with the game, so does anyone know who made them?

What I just learned I don't have, much to my chagrin, are my Sand Wars and other scenarios, so if someone would be so kind as to upload those to HG, I would appreciate it.

Thanks everyone... Yahya, I had forgotten the 7Fat/7Lean. Once I get these, on to a disk they go!

I will try and upload them this evening. I can't reach HG from work for some reason.

I had no luck finding any of the original scenarios posted on The Tilted Mill. What I did find was an updated version of the Floating Pyramid "hard" version. It is basically the same as the version I originally posted except for a few minor changes.

I also found a sandbox version of the Floating Pyramid for those that just like to build without having to worry about Raiders or a timeline.

Both these scenarios require Alexandria to play and both have the Great Works enabled. Both are also graphic intensive so a low end machine may have a problem with these scenario.

You can download these using the following links.

Hard Version...

Sandbox...

Good Luck..... :)

Is there anyone there?? I am new to the forum though have been enjoying the game for a few months. Glad it wasn't just me, I wondered why the scenarios weren't here any more. What is HG?? I have many, but not all of the user made scenarios to share back if someone wants to tell me in plain English where to send then (.scn files)

HG = Heavens Games

They have message boards and file storage for many of the citybuilder games from Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus, Emperor, COTN and Caesar IV and a lot of other games.

Yes, HG is heaven games. They have a download site where we can put up files, but it was down last week so I haven't gotten round to it yet.

The link to the download site is http://cotn.heavengames.com/downloads/index.php.

I'm going to try putting up a couple of files now.

Bah. Have to make .zip files first to upload anything, and I am tired. So another time, sadly.

This is really becoming a big pain in the a$$.

O.K. seems we will have to upload our scenarios to Heaven Games. I have just uploaded Mbizi Oasis..........and it looks like I have to wait to see if it is accepted. Hopefully if it is I will upload more of my scenarios.

I don't think you'll have a problem with the upload being accepted.
