i will never get a city layout like that. I'm not artistically inclined..

nor am i good enough yet. My jaw droped when i saw that layout..

i'm on day 3 of Cotn. and it's driving me nuts..hehe

Hi Catgoddess,

I promise this scenario is a bit more straight-forward than Rhakotis was :)

Defjam - LOL

Trust me, you dont want to take lessons from me on city building, I get all the buildings on the ground and thats about as far as my artistic ability allows

:)

So if I've been playing it, can I just replace the file and not have it disrupt the game midstream? Or do I have to start a fresh game with the new file?

by Karter
Unfortunately, you would have to start a new game...the *.scn file holds the code and when you save a game, it stores it in the saved game and reloads it from the saved game file.

But, it really isnt a big deal....the only thing the change does is
forces you to choose an option within 3 years...
if you dont it will choose for you

the copy you have....You are not limited by time...
once you make a choice, it will then continue on its normal course
the first option is:
1. Deal with the Peleset <hostage situation>
2. Dont deal with the Peleset <hostage situation>

you wont even see the second option unless you select
2. Dont deal with the Peleset ...<from above>

If you select 2. from above...
you will later be faced to
1. Search for hostages
2. Dont search for hostages

Again...the revised copy has a 3 year time limit
With the 3 year time limit...if you have not chosen within 3 years on each...
option
2. Dont Deal and
2. Dont Search
will be selected...it assumes you dont care about them enough to decide :)

Sorry, about my over-sight....

I put a time limit in, to actually increase the difficulty..
forcing the player to deal with the situation sooner than later....
LOL, you may not want to upgrade...

Hea Karter,

I ran the scenario with the original file, and compleeted the three ojectives.

But I did not recieve a success screen.

Here's my save.

Hi Max-1,

Very strange indeed....
I double checked and triple checked my code
I took a look at your saved game...and here is what I found...

In the relationship part...
you adopted Mo'et and
you married his mother

which should not be able to happen...only one option should be allowed
Even with that...
the third Goal <relationship> did not fire is why you did not recieve a Win Screen

here is how the trigger is supposed to work
if any of the options <sites> are opened ..
the other options <sites> are killed and all options <sites> are hidden
if any one of the options <sites> are open then this triggers the Goal response (which didnt happen)

I tried to duplicate this (opening 2 at once)..and was unsuccessful :(

I have concluded that there are only 2 possible ways for it too happen..

1. The timing was such ... that both had to be opened and killed by the other at exactly the same time...not allowing the Goal response to fire

or......
2. I may have put the wrong version out on the orginal :( :(

I hope I didnt do that...
I usually have 3-4 copies as backups just in case....and could have done this

If you still have the original *.scn and post it... I could take a look

What I am going to do is rework that area, just in case...<not sure how>
so a timing error should not be able to occur...

My apoligies, I dont know what else to say... other than
YOU DID ACTUALLY WIN and
Its a great looking city :)

Karter,
The relationship sites that opened were:
~Adopt
~marry
~Brother defense
~choose not to marry

So I choose to adopt, marry, and defense all on the world level site.

The result was an award for adopting Mo'et and for takeing a wife.

So I'm gonna run it again, but with the newest map file.

Here's the original scn. file.

I finished this campaigh with any problems, before you have posted a new version; but I choose "take companion" on relationship part.
I liked this scenario much more then Rhakotis one, which I needed to restart several times untill I understand what need to be done first. I don`t mean that I don`t like it, but it was hard scenario.
Nazlat al Fallahin is only fun :) . Thank you.

P.S. Have you noticed that there are no oil trees in the map, so perfume shops can not produce anything?

Hi Max-1,

Well...phew!!...your version wasn't an old copy...so it was just a timing thing..but I have added some redundancy checking that should resolve the problem.thank you so much for your time and effort..it really helps...

Hi amator,

amator

P.S. Have you noticed that there are no oil trees in the map, so perfume shops can not produce anything?

Thank you for pointing out the Oil Tree thing...I have added those to the revised copy....it is difficult to check all aspects

And I am glad you enjoyed it...Makes it all worth the effort :)
and I agree of all the maps Fallahin is my favorite...it was the hardest to do, but was really closer to what I wanted to see in a finished product
and yes Rhakotis, is a bit difficult at first...

When, I create the Campaign versions...I will be adding just a few extras to each map
and for Rhakotis... I will definately add a little more explanation to assist players :)

Again thank you to all

Finished scenario.

Great job on the scenario.
Excellent sound additions to the series.

But now I'm going for major enhansments.

Here are osme preview picks. :D

villagers?

Hi Karter
I have a question for you. I downloaded the original(not the update) and played it twice unsuccessfully. The first time I did something very stupid I'm too embaressed to admit, :o :o , but I had plenty of villagers. The second time, after the first 10 extra villagers; I never got any more! I did lots of prestige building, opened all the sites, gave things to Mo'et, etc but never attracted any more people. Should I download the updated version or did I miss something vital (wouldn't be the first time!)????

Hi catgoddess83,

Well, I would download the new one... or you might get the same thing happen that Max-1 did..

but to answer your question..once your prestige is 20 or above you should get
A Blessing of The Gods
Attract Villagers

this takes 20 copper and will produce 20-25 new villagers...it is a never ending source of villagers

as your prestige increases other Blessings will be available...look at the Tips section
:)

Hi MAX-1,
Finished scenario.

Excellent sound additions to the series.

But now I'm going for major enhansments.

Here are osme preview picks.

I just realized something....look at your win screen, I never put a finishing statement in

eeeek, LOL oh-no another update....I will never get it done....
I just realized, your a northwesterner like me :)

Just so many things that I liked about this map, I really don't know where to start.

~ Land lay out is fabulous. Providing pleanty of open space to build upon, includeing tiered plateaus.

~ Reasources are spread out around the map in strategec locations as to aid in gathering.

~ Best story line of any user made scenerio. Kept my attention all the way through.

~ Once again, Karter creates many new options to game play, includeing offerings, relationships, and embassies.

~ War play is a nice build up to a grand conquest (with a nice reward).

~ Nice invasion twists. Kept me on my toes.

~ Trade is well ballanced all the way through to end and through sand box play.

I am so drawn into this map that after my win, 41 years (can be done sooner), I'm continuing on with a drawn out sand box play. I'm going for 30 nobels and 250 farmers, scaling back on unnecessary workers while building up the city (prettifying). :D

Here are some more screenies.
This deffinately will be a user set. Sooner or later.

Hi Max-1,
LOL-yikes <Karter blushes>
MAX-1

Just so many things that I liked about this map, I really don't know where to start.

I am glad you enjoyed it...
and yes, I purposely tried to end the scenario in a sand-box mode for those that wish to keep building
I cannot believe at how huge your cities are and great looking..They are amazing
maybe one day I will gain the patience to build such as yours

Hi vic_4,
vic_4
I did it and ejoied.
It is most unusual scenario and it opens a new approach to the game. Congratulations to Karter.

Thank you also,
as I stated in an earlier post..this is closer to what I wanted in a finished scenario..I get bored kinda easy, so a little story line keeps me interested and hopefully others as well.

vic_4??? question, if I could
your location says Rome, Italio
Are you from the US? Because, your english is so good, I was just curious :)

PS: I dont know how...everyone approached the scenario...under certain conditions Mo'et can actually DIE...oh. how terribly dreadful.....

Thank you Karter, I am italian but I have been working three years at NIH in Bethesda Maryland.
