Terrain Maps

My understanding is that the terrain maps, once a city is started, are fixed (no, in other words, raising or lowering terrain ala SC4, or "digging" river and stream channels). Is that correct, or am I missing something major?

Also, maps come in three sizes- 256 px, 512 px and 1,024 px square. That's actually a question. What dimension does a map pixel represent or, alternatively, how many miles/kms are each side of the above map squares?

As far as terrain being fixed, you seem to be correct. It's bizarre to me that there's no map editing or landscaping tools

I get the feeling there is a SDK on the way. I'm going to be patient...for now :D

lets hope a terrain editing option will be in this game soon trough a sdk or patch or whatever they plan on doing.
