Problem reinstalling SCS

Postby greenbay78 » Sat Oct 13, 2012 9:43 pm

I bought SCS and used to play it on my computer a few years ago on my old laptop and everything worked fine. I tried reinstalling it today and everything went good until the end. The "installation" and a screen from EA popped up. It was an invalid URL page. When I click the SCS icon (which popped up at the same time) another window that pops up says "The program can't start because d3dx9_33.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this program." Assuming it is a licensing issue, is there anything I can do?

The d3dx9_33.dll is part of DirectX 9.0c which you will probably have to install. Sounds like you have a computer with Vista installed. Vista had DirectX 10 and some of the files needed by older DX9 games were not in the newer DX10.

You should probably have a copy of DX9.0c on your game disc. It should be in a folder with a name like DirectX or one of the other subfolders. If you don't have it on the disc you can get a copy of DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft.
