[Mod] 24 Hour Buildings + New Time Periods

This mod will add several new buildings that will be open 24 hours, these will not modify the original ones so you will have the choice to add a 24hour or regular building.


Added is some new Time Periods to enable more realistic times for several of the default buildings.


More to be added shortly, please, if anyone else is changing the files for times post here and I will put them in the zip.

24hrs Pizza Shop
24hrs Service Station
Morning Bed And Breakfast
NC Metal Club.xml
NC Nightclub.xml
NC Pub.xml
NC Speakeasy.xml
NC VIP Club.xml

NC= Night_Club Time_Period, 7pm-5am
Morning = 6a-11:30a

Sorry Morpheus121073, didnt realize your first mod pack was changing the times, my bad - i got exciteded about this because of this thread:

. 2 new opening times, Late which is from 9 am till 2 am used in bars and certain clubs, and the second is latenight
which is from 9 am till 4 am used at certain buildings such as the Nightclub.


Thats the thing, I've never seen a 'night' club open at 9am, doesnt make sence, they open at 7pm here and close at 4am, so 7-5am sounded nice.




You install it by extracting it to your application data/simcity socieietes, it hsa the same data structure.

depends on where you are from, now when i would be walking about in new york or in la i can definatly find nighclubs open at that time :)

BP and Morpheus.. Thank you for all your work on the building mods.
With all your shared work i went on and tried my own' success :D
I was able to make a few changes in the buildings myself.. yaaay me
then discovered that the buildings did not contain a Building ID String .. Basicly it was empty/Blank ... hmmm how to fix?

So i went and found how to fix this although i see nowhere at the moment how it is shared? i could be wrong? but i did not find it here in the forums.

Well you two may or may not be able to already do this but i will share it for others to know just incase it has not been made common knowledge?

what i did for my building so it would have a Building ID String for it's name..

Go to: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SimCity™ Societies\Localization\en_us\ObjectText

Open up the "BuildingText XML Document" with whatever Text Editor you use?
"Find the original"

<Building id="Casino">
<Name>Casino</Name>
<Name_Plural>Casinos</Name_Plural>
<Description>An evening's luck can change with the flip of a card. Some lose control and stay here longer than planned.</Description>
</Building>

"Edit it to read like this"

[SIZE=2]</Building>
<Building Id="Casino Knights">
<Name>Casino</Name>
<Name_Plural>Casinos</Name_Plural>
<Description>An evening's luck can change with the flip of a card. Some lose control and stay here longer than planned.</Description>
</Building>

And thats a rough idea of how i edited my building to have a Building ID String.

BP most of your 24 Hour mods do not contain these ID Strings.

Hope that helps anyone else who is learning?

Wish i could help more but the damn game keeps crashing based on an EA error?..
need to find out how to edit the window modes from what i understand so it performs better?

Well off to play in the graphics of the buildings. ;)

I should have ID tags, everything is copy/pasted from the original with only times changed, what items are missing the tags?

These buildings are a welcome addition to the game.

I also want to thank you. I used your instructins and was finally able to create a 24 hour clinic for my sims.
