Primetime's Super Zoom

Postby MidrealmDM70 » Sat May 22, 2010 3:55 pm

I am posting a Mod I use all the time, it allows you to change your camera angles in the game to zoom in extremely close or extremely far away.

I DID NOT CREATE THIS MOD

But props to Primetime whoever and wherever he or she is.

Once installed go to your video settings in the game and you should have more options avaialable for you camera angle.

On slow performance machines, extreme zoom-outs can cause slowdown,
particularly if you have alot of fog, smog, traffic, neon, etc.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So very sorry to bring up a dead thread, but I thought it would be better than posting a new one. Would this mod happen to be available for download anywhere else? This link doesn't seem to be working. Thanks!

The link doesn't work because it is believed that since TM switched the forum to the cloud that the forum no longer has access to the file server. Luckily for you I found the file on my external hard drive, so here you are https://rapidshare.com/files/306263624/SuperZoom.SCSPack

Hey,

I can't sign into SkyDrive - any way you can re-attach it to a forum post?

Or can you explain how to manually adjust the zoom settings?

Can't help you with SCS directions, as I don't have the game, but if you just click on the link in that other post it should open that user's SkyDrive folder. It's in his public folders so anyone can get in and you don't need to login/signin on SkyDrive to do it.

I just tried the link myself and the file window pops right up. Right click on the filename and select Download.

Nope. I tried right-click, Download --

It asked me for my SkyDrive login.

Are the Haunted City buildings from TM included? According to what I ´ve read here, they are part of it. But it seems I can´t find them. I am a bit reluctant to activate every mod.

The problem I have is that it´s indicated the stuff is there but I don´t know what mod it is exactly.

People asked here:
http://tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27259

And more or less the same problem here:
http://tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26119

So yeah, i read Oh it´s there but well, I don´t know the name. It´s not Creepy Nightmare AFAIK

The Super Zoom Mod doesn't seem to be available, but anyhoo -

I *think* I can accomplish the same effect with this for the CameraSettings.xml file,

Code: Select all

<Camera_Settings_Table>
<Camera_Mode name="CAMERA_TYPE_5_EXTREME" EdgeBuffer="0" cpu="2.6" mem="2000" >
   <!-- Minimum and maximum distance of camera from ground  -->
   <Height min="2" max="120" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum camera zoom  -->
   <Zoom min="2" max="120" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum pitch of camera  -->
   <Pitch min="-1" max="89" />
</Camera_Mode>

<Camera_Mode name="CAMERA_TYPE_4_FREE" EdgeBuffer="0" cpu="2.6" mem="1500" >
   <!-- Minimum and maximum distance of camera from ground  -->
   <Height min="2" max="60" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum camera zoom  -->
   <Zoom min="2" max="60" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum pitch of camera  -->
   <Pitch min="-1" max="89" />
</Camera_Mode>

<Camera_Mode name="CAMERA_TYPE_3_NORMAL" EdgeBuffer="0" cpu="2.1" mem="600">
   <!-- Minimum and maximum distance of camera from ground  -->
   <Height min="2" max="55" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum camera zoom  -->
   <Zoom min="2" max="55" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum pitch of camera  -->
   <Pitch min="-38" max="85" />
</Camera_Mode>

<Camera_Mode name="CAMERA_TYPE_2_SUBNORMAL" EdgeBuffer="0" AllowFireworks="false" cpu="2.1" mem="599">
   <!-- Minimum and maximum distance of camera from ground  -->
   <Height min="2" max="40" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum camera zoom  -->
   <Zoom min="2" max="40" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum pitch of camera  -->
   <Pitch min="-40" max="75" />
   <!-- Edge Buffer  -->
</Camera_Mode>

<Camera_Mode name="CAMERA_TYPE_1_RESTRICTED" EdgeBuffer="0" AllowFireworks="false">
   <!-- Minimum and maximum distance of camera from ground  -->
   <Height min="2" max="28" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum camera zoom  -->
   <Zoom min="2" max="28" />
   <!-- Minimum and maximum pitch of camera  -->
   <Pitch min="-50" max="70" />
</Camera_Mode>
</Camera_Settings_Table>

And then adding this to the languagetext.xml file:

Code: Select all

  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_LABLE">Camera Type</String>
  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_1_RESTRICTED">Most Restricted</String>
  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_2_SUBNORMAL">Restricted</String>
  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_3_NORMAL">Normal</String>
  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_4_FREE">Free</String>
  <String id="CAMERA_TYPE_5_EXTREME">Extreme</String>
  <String id="TT_CAMERA_TYPE">Choose the type of camera you want to use.\nChoose a more restricted camera type for better performance.</String>
  <String id="40200">Sound (Buildings)</String>

If anyone has guidelines to what cpu and mem actually mean/should be set at to optimize SCS's behavior when using the extreme camera, let me know please. :)
