Where is my shield?

Postby Bolgo The Madd » Thu Oct 02, 2008 3:03 am

I got a notice saying one of my craftsman made a shield. Where is it? I talked to the NPC, but he doesn't have an option to retrieve the shield... it's not in the capital building. Where is it?

For anyone else that may have this question; produced goods are automatically placed into the town's inventory.

Just curious: What happens, if the town's inventory is full? The item is discarded?

Either that or sold for 1g if you have a merchant.

That's my guess at least.

That doesn't answer it? ;p

No merchant and no space -> item discarded.
Merchant and no space -> item sold to merchant for 1g.

There IS something you can do, if you have raiders on in your game. ;)

You may want to figure this out yourself or here's a spoiler if you like (highlight to see it):
use a killed raider as a chest where you put extra items until you need them/ have a merchant in town. Put things in his box before you take the last loot item out of it.

You sir, are a genius.

Spoiler:
Assuming of course, that the corpse never vanishes later. IN which case I'll probably end up hating you with every fiber of my soul ;)

Well, not a sir nor a genius. :D As my pic shows I'm a lady, even a 'noble' one. :p

And as a reply no it won't fade away.

It seems so weird that a craftsman can generate several gold pieces per day when in sell mode.
While if you make him produce items for you, and then manually sell them they net less than 1 gp/day average.

They are probably selling menial things like nails, leather straps, finished wood, knicknacks and brickebracks, stew pots and horseshoes, and the like.

But the first thing I thought when I started playing was "the money scale is out of whack." They could add a ton of variance to the money scale if they broke gold down into copper and silver as well. It becomes an excuse for adding more items too. As in, 3 cook books instead of one, each yielding more money per day than the last. In it's current form adding anymore would just inflate gold per day to silly amounts.
