Oh, I don't know about ungrateful, Hon.. It's not like the owner of the farm picks them up and pets them, so they are pretty feral.. Now, Feather, if you put her outside, like today when it's so cold, she's VERY grateful to quickly come back in her warm abode.. :D (Btw, my Feather is one of my friend's farm kitties.. She was abandoned by her mother so I took her home.. I think she's very grateful, especially when she deigns to snuggle with me)..

Gosh Hon, it's not like we rope them and throw them on the ground and yank off their tiny balls or rip out their insides, you know! lol! They go peacefully to sleep for a short time and are then spoiled rotten for several weeks of recuperation (for the girls, especially).. It's not the small pets that have it so bad, it's the poor horses and cattle, etc.. They are the ones we treat like crap when it comes to neutering.. Oh, and then there's 'sheep dip'.. UGGGGH!! ;) Don't get me started on that stuff! Talk about torturing animals..

A day in the life of Skye.
He plays Monopoly, watches his favourite horror show and then waits for his daddy to come home. What an exciting day. :)

Definitely a canary not a finch. We used to breed them. Very nice bird. Since you said him, I hope he sings well for you.

sure, very good, although this kind of canary is known as "bird of colour", and the "bird of song " are rollers, russian white, malinois and some others, and they are REAL singers, check these guys, they kick ass:

I just found out what is "finch". Wild male finches are often captured and used here for breeding with female canarys, so they give "bastards" which are very respected among "bird men" for their song....
