Disaster on the Nile

Postby Agamemnus » Sat Jan 17, 2009 6:29 pm

Shipment of 8000 [bricks] from Mediolanum arrived at Caesarea. Your crew felt the wrath of Hapi, who sunk 20 of your ships! [01/17 @ 5:43 am]

Ah well you want to be at the top, gotta expect some pain.

Still 20 out of 80 is 25% which does seem a little excessive.

Wow, pwnage. I took around 20% loss early on, but it was less total boats.

This is why I break up large shipments. Smaller ship loss, of which I seem to get none, and then 5 within an hour (from different trades).

Lol, you could have just sent them to the monument, caught some Z's and then sent them to the city... =/

My 11th ship just finished being built in my city. I have one builder making them so took all day. Sent a few goods between my 2 cities and yeah guess what lost it just like that, maiden voyage and everything. So if you don't count the first ten ships I've lost 100% of mine since I started. Joy, joy, happy, happy.

I had kept the exchange at level 2 in one of my cities for ages with just ten ships [so no losses there then ;) ]

Anyway yesterday I decided to up the exchange to level 3 - before it had quite finished I sent all ten ships on a 3 hour journey to my other city.... and started to build another ship whilst they were on the journey in the newly upgraded level 3 exchange....

the ship was built 30 mins before the 10 ships arrived - giving a total of 11 ships in the city's fleet....

3 of the 10 ships felt the wrath of Hapi as they made their delivery - so as soon as I had 11 ships - Hapi sank 3 of them - the biggest percentage loss so far I think - it may be 27.27272727*% - but this percentage may be very wrong and flaky ;)

It looks like yesterday was a bad day for ship losses :(

This is really not funny. My one lone shipbuilder built my replacement ship after 24 hours and I lost it on its maiden voyage taking 25 bronze to second city.So back to ten again and wait another day for him to build another one. Has it got worse again lately?.

I know just before I quit first time I lost 16 ships in 3 hours but this is nearly as bad. How will I ever get to 25 ships if I lose my 11th one every time it pokes it's nose out of the habour ?
