You can change what lux good that you use, so you can use whichever one that you want.

I know. It's just all my cities are leather. Plus I rarely ever made sandals in the first place due to low profitability/diminishing returns in trades.

Looks like the sandals shops are gonna get used more.

Oh, I had thought from your post that you might be producing another good.

I do not know for sure but I would hazard a guess that the two are not related. (Monkeys as quest rewards and purchased Monkeys for the city)

Tomb raid quest, 03-Oct-09, started at about 23:30 UTC; paid with 500 sandals.

Result:

During the Tomb Raid quest your envoys uncovered ruins, earning you:

+ 1646 bricks in your capital city

think you misunderstood. I want to know if the monkeys dance in the city like the ones Bought with scarabs or is it just the icon on the profile page.

Looks like my level 9 palace will be done in 1 and a half hours. o.O

By the way, I noticed the temple still says 6h 10m to build. I don't have a temple in 4th city yet. Barracks are at 2h 19m defaults also. Guess the bonus doesn't work on putting up actual buildings then (not that I'd waste it on a level 1 bakery lol). Just throwing that out there.

Agree. It doesn't look like the speedup works on initial building placement & this includes monument L1s. However, speedups DO work on quarry upgrades. Don't know about additional city shovels, but methinks that is a negatory also.

Wild Hypothesis

Does time of day matter?

Quests take 12 Hours. If we send out when they get back, we are repeating the same times. Two quests, one after another = 24 hours.

Hmmmmm

My Sabah scores ~ Completion time

Nome ~ Scarab ~ 7:12 AM
Desert ~ Scarab ~ 1:10 PM
Tomb ~ Flowers ~ 11:43 PM
Tomb ~ Linen ~ 11:07 AM

...grasping at straws?...desperation strikes?...lol...stop laughing TM...

:D

Another tomb raid quest, 04-Oct-09, started at about the same time, again I paid with 500 sandals.

Result:

During the Tomb Raid quest your envoys uncovered ruins, earning you:

+ 1517 bricks in your capital city

Just a question...

Considering the current rate of Scarab per Lux good, would it be profitable to trade Scarabs for Lux Goods, then send the goods on quests, get back the Scarab, and get a ton of bricks to go with? Not to mention an item. Of course its risky but is the chance of getting back your Scarab high enough?

Does the Holy Pilgrimage actually work? I got one, then upgraded a building, and it didn't seem to reduce any time from it.
