It's only in Sabah right now. It will probably come to Theoris soon.

I was actually expecting 6 & 9 hour speedups from the new ones.

Thankx for the Lab Report, Malkata! You too, Ivy! :)

This completes every promise Reed made to us for Nile Online. Quests & scarabs from Quests.

Mission Accomplished

Thank You, Reed! :)

I won't chime in yet- you guys are having too much fun with figuring it out, but there is a rhyme to all the numbers collectively.

Also, some of the % chances for Scarabs are slightly tweaked.

Overall the numbers progress as a new player would experience, and in fact, are a little too easy for such mature servers, though I think this will flatten out a bit as everyone is done dumping excess and begins using them more as strategic tools than a curiosity.

In the beginning you need bricks & scarabs, so the initial quests reward you along these lines. As you develop further, you should have resolved your brick production and you start hitting some high numbers in construction times and you want to reduce those times. (Occasionally you will hit brick issues as well, so having some strategic flexibility here is good.)

Keep in mind that you don't get that many envoys, so going from 4 to 6 will take some time.

One argument against our final numbers, and the 6 envoy quest will be that maybe we should have kept it in payment of bread and boats- but some variety in choice between the five and six I think is good as at that high a level it is nice to have some flexibility and the hourly bonus is very good in both cases.

Envoy,
I mean
Enjoy,
Jeff

I love the quests!
Only, in my opinion the different quests should take different times to complete.
For example, the "nearby desert" is NEARBY and thus should not take 12 hours I think...
And a journey to Punt and Holy Pilgrimage can take longer than 12 hours...

What do you guys think?

And I agree that every questst can have a bread amount needed, cause you will always need that on a journey.

Just a quick note, there's been some confusion on the wall in response to the use of the slash in the costs of the two new quests ("15 ships / 1500 bread"). Maybe a plus sign, or ampersand, or even a comma would be a bit clearer? Everyone who's been reading up on quests and discussing them know it's both ships and bread now, but for someone new to the game that might look like a definitive "or".

level 25 wheat field

Postby Solmar » Wed Oct 28, 2009 2:43 am

Did the version 1.4 up the wheat field level. Although I'm building right now and couldn't actually click the upgrade button, it looked like I could upgrade the wheat field above level 24. Is this a new 1.4 feature or have I just been missing the boat all along?

I did miss the boat!

Boy, I sure pay close attention. Once I got them to level 24 I didn't even look to see if I could keep going. I just happen to see it while allocating labor, finally.

I'd like to see some way to utilize scarabs to change a city's resource in the future :)

There's a lot more potential to this game.
I hope they keep on going developping it further!

Can you doubleup the buildingtime bonuses?

Postby Pontius Pilatus » Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:52 pm

If you are in the middle of the real big upgrades it could be you complete 2 of the bigger quests and get a second buildingtimebonus before you used up the first. Are they added up? If not what then?

Cheers!
But it ain't necessarily so.

They are added up, but I dunno if there is a max on how many hours you can add. You use the hours all at once though.

Good news!

Thank you Aga, hope you speak from experience.
I heard rumours telling the contrary, but I take it you're in the position to have personally met the situation.

Thanks again!
But it ain't necessarily so.

Speedups stack. I have already used a 36 hour stacked speedup.

The maximum number of hours that can be collected is 255
