New Firefox update and slow gameplay

Postby Old Git » Sat Mar 27, 2010 12:30 am

Could be just a coincidence, but since I upgraded to the new version of Firefox, the game is really slow. I'm asking to see if anyone else has this issue so if it's just me, then it probably is something else and not the upgrade.

Thank you.

Nile can slow down if online for long periods of time & cause a player to double send scrolls as the best example of the bit of lag. Every few hours, log out/in to fix it. Logging out/in fixes a lot of situations.

Another thing that used to cause lag(I'm not sure if it still does), was saving your scrolls. When Iwas told that, I deleted a lot of what I had, ad I was amazed at how much faster the game was.

Also using Firefox 3.6.2 with no problems.
Used to have issues when our dsl connection was playing up particularly in the upload direction. That really caused some issues!

Some of it has settled out and the game is better. I have deleted some unneeded scrolls. (Thanks for the tip.) Hopefully that will help.

So, I don't know what was the issue. I was just hitting a link and it was taking up to 15 seconds before anything would indicate that something was happening. Then it started working. It took 20-30 seconds to go from town view to Nome view. I turned off the 2 scrips for Nile Online and that only helped a little.

Thanks for the replies. Just verifying to see if it was something I had done or something else. :)
