I love the Space Quest slogon: "In space no one can hear you clean." ROFL! (Note: In SQ the hero is a janitor.)

I will consider buying them after I move up north

Hi King, Is your copy of Clouds and Darkside on floppys? I unfortunately gave mine away a few years ago. Then bought a "remastered" game on CD. What a bogus mess that was. Remeber how when you first started in Clouds you went into the tavern, the people there would have hints on the warehouse, the rats there, etc. On the CD the voice over only said: go away I'm drinking or some such nonsense. Needless to say I sent it back with a few choice words.

That was a great game!!!

I still have the orinigal HOMM 2 with all expansions, I should probably load it a play, if I can tear myself away fro CotN.

I don't remember exactly what my first PC game was, either Civilization or Simcity 2000 or was it Transport Tycoon?

The first City builder was Caesar II which got me addicted, then followed Caesar III and all the rest.

I had the original cds of MM4 and MM5 and combined them to become world of Xeen.. later I bought the millenium edition which also had 'remastered' mm4-5 disks

yes they remastered it alright.. even in the taverns when you drank they wouldn't give you hints.. all it would say is "drink some more".. this is because the hints caused a strange crash freeze bug for a lot of people and rather than fixing it they removed it entirely!

they also changed spell names like "Divine Intervention" to "mystic intervention"
it was BS!

I also found an original HOMM2 expansion disk

it turns out that the town music in the expansion is different from the original and to be honest I like them a lot more :)

1) Tons of stuff for the old various Atari computers. Many magazine games besides the store-bought stuff.

First IMB PC was C&C Red Alert

2) First CB was Pharaoh

First games were the Infocom text adventures. Hollywood Hijinx was my favourite - it was hilarious. All that was way back on an Amstrad 6128. I no longer have the originals, but a couple of years ago a Masterworks CD was available containing many of the Infocom games. It was really good to get those old text adventures again! Aramann, your circus game is Ballyhoo.

First CB was CIII. Instant addiction.

If I remember correctly:

1) My first pc game was Battleground Ardennes (front cover) (screen shot)

2) My first city builder was Caesar2 (which also was one of my first pc games at all as well).

My favourite game from my early pc gaming days must be - without competition - Lords of the Realm 2 (Gold version - with extra castles to lay siege upon).

I think it was "Adventure" - I'm not 100% sure (and if it was, I'm getting old...). I know it was one of those early text adventure games that I still enjoy and occasionally create today.

My first City Building game was one of the SimCity games. I think it was SimCity 2000.
