Age of Empires online enters Beta

Postby Innovan » Thu Aug 19, 2010 8:12 pm

Now the Age of Empires team, largely at http://www.robotentertainment.com are issuing the online social-media version of their RTS game.

They're copying everyone else's Social Media ideas with the new title scheduled to have gifting and trade, and "cooperative multiplayer quests".

They have an open beta going now.

Meanwhile Zynga is readying a city building game

and TeamLava issues a "Me Too" knockoff in Social City.

Age for kids... bleah! :(

However Robot Enterteinment works 5 years in this game, graphics sucks, quest system is not Age of empires style, and only 4 units and one civ.

Worst Sequel Ever

Yeah, graphics need to be stepped up more than just a bit.

"Age for Kids" LOL Good line!

A lot of these social games appear to be made for people still using Atari's.

However, as for quests, they absolutely rock! I desperately wanted quests in Caesar IV. We can design quests into COTN since it has a triggered World Map, so that works great & C4 scenariomakers have kinda put quests into their User-Createds.

Age3 definitely has quests already! You don't know this?

Quests are the future. If a game doesn't have quests, then that is a ding against the developers.
