I'm doing my own thing. No monuments, hence no army needed. Only free scarabs.

I've got three cities, 2 at Lvl 22 and one at Lvl 18.

;)

I wanted to see how far I could take things without resorting to monuments and raiding monuments. Not having to equip and feed an army is really liberating. I can spend all that excess bread I make and/or earn on just about anything I want or need instead of feeding and arming a standing army.

I've done pretty well so far. At first, my ranking plummeted to a low of 885, as I slowly built my first city up to lvl 14 and added a second city. Once I got my second city established my ranking slowly began to rise. I added a third city about 4-5 months ago and my rank continues to slowly rise. I am currently at 216 and rising without any monuments.

I am the #1 donator to temples in two cities and #2 in the third.

OT for this thread (we can start a new one if others are interested in the discussion) but how long did it take you to accumulate the free scarabs? I've just started doing "explore the nome" quests with my single envoy, and out of six quests done so far I've had ~250 bricks five times, and ~120 bricks plus flowers the sixth. I'm not expecting scarabs to come fast, and especially not with the lowest-cost quest, just wondering what to plan for: one out of 20, 50, 100  quests done?

My Labs indicate that the average chance of getting a Quest scarab from any Quest type is 2%.

Good Luck!

Scarabs only cost 40-50 cents from PayPal. Buy some & help Row the Nile boat! TM has bills & salaries to pay.

Besides, you will get a very kewl Nile Online Supporter! on your Profile & your cities will GLOW on the Nome Map! Yummy!

Thank You! :)
