Well, since you ask *here*... ;) I'd always prefere to build my own egyptian empire as I like than to squeeze buildings on a map :p

No, I guess it depends on your preferences:
Rome vs. egypt
building radius vs. free placing
demanding emperors vs. you're the boss
upgrading houses vs. building monuments
...and the list goes on.

Really, it depends on what game style you like. I'd recomment to look for some demos (the CotN one you find here: http://www.immortalcities.com/cotn/downloads/demo.php ) and see what you like better.

Have fun, either way! :)

Yep, I agree, Both is the best answer.

Both games are very fun to play.
They have totally different play styles from eachother.

With the Caesar IV the online server is gone now so I guess you can ignore that side of the game, it was a pretty lame excuse of online gameplay anyways. The single player game is fun and can provide many hours of play time.

With COTN you get no online gameplay, everything is kind of open ended and the game is extremely easy to play and what I would call casual paced (no need to pause while building) and it provides too many hours of playtime :D

Have you had Caesar 2 & 3?

If No, I recommend you to find and get them. They're antique now. Play from C2 thru C4, you'll see the beauty of Caesar serie. Very beautiful!

Enjoy the great games and become a CBer :D

Agreed with the others here. Both games offer very different styles of gameplay and both are rewarding in their own way.

Yes, but only if you're not looking for an updated SimCity 4. ;) SCS is far too different from any SimCity.

I really enjoyed playing it to experience the different city feels.

I would say yes, it is a good game.

And, as Jacquou Le stated, if you have not played the earlier games I think they are all worth a try. Caesar II & III, Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Zeus, Poseidon, Emperor ROTMK, COTN, Caesar IV, SCS. - I think I have the order correct ;)

Please don't make me think about how many hours I have played these games. :D

CotN has significantly different gameplay from the other games. I enjoy them all, but CotN can be frustrating at first, until you understand the flow of goods and (especially) food. Caesar IV is like the others, in that you have money, can trade with other cities, etc. (Yes, you can "trade" with other cities in CotN, but it's different.)

I don't think I can help with purchasing them, though. I got them through Steam and whatever the other one is.
