Game Speed

Postby texasmine » Thu Aug 08, 2019 5:34 pm

I've recently purchased a new computer. Now that I have everything loaded, I want to change the game speed. I know it's an ini file, but I can't find it. Any help appreciated.

Not sure why you are looking for an ini file?
Game speed you control with the '+' and '-' in-game.

The cotn.ini file does have a 'game speed' set to 1, but I don't really see why you'd want to change that.
That file would be located in your 'documents' along with subfolders for your own games and scenarios.

A change to the ini file will allow a higher speed than the 2.5. There are times when I need that pyramid built!

I expect you've found it by now but if you haven't...

I have GOG version. COTN.ini is in
Documents/Tilted Mill/Children of the Nile

While I can't see a thread on it (there is one somewhere) try setting Game Speed Max = 500.
This rings a bell with me from years ago and I didn't see a point in going past 5x

Back file up before trying it. Caveat Emptor.

By the way. you can always find a file by typing the name in the search box on File Explorer.

Herodotus, thank you SO much!! I kept coming up empty on the file search because I was typing CoN.ini instead of the COTN. I use CoN on my bookmark bar or when I'm making notes, so my brain just wasn't seeing the mistake. You have been a stalwart on the forum from the get-go. Thanks for the YEARS of help.
