Achet Khufu - aka The trials and tribulations of an ancient Egyptian architect

Setting: Old Kingdom - Small map - Hard
City: Imentet - Patron deity: Ra
CotN complete edition w. Alexandria

You are Hemiunu, architect of Pharaoh Khnum Khufu. You have been put in charge of building Khnum Khufu's pyramid complex at Imentet. Pharaoh has very specific requirements for this complex, and failing to fulfill his wishes will result in early retirement in rather less than comfortable circumstances.

Thankfully, you will not have to worry about funerary goods, that's for the royal scribes of Men-Nefer to deal with. The royal engineers have already dug a canal that will make hauling materials to the complex easier, and Pharaoh will provide food for the workers you will need to hire, but the rest is up to you.

While this may seem like a simple enough task, between Pharaoh's strict stipulations and ornate taste, pernickety overseers, pesky union reps, onerous workers, fickle suppliers, stringent tool requirements, challenging environment, and navigating the jungle of commerce, this will demand some experience in this kind of operation, and keep you on your toes. The life of a constructions site manager is never easy.

You will have maximum 20 years to finish this project. You'd be wise to pay attention to the 'rules and regulations' put to you, or you'll be 'finished' a lot sooner than that.

Although this is to be a near replica of Khufu's pyramid complex and workers' village in Giza, I had to add a few things for the sake of the game.

This Plan of The Giza Pyramid Complex is a nice guide to build by, but as long as you build what you're supposed to, you can arrange it however you want.

It might not look like it at first glance, but the map is set up for maximum efficiency (while still resembling the real thing). Make sure you set up your workers for efficiency as well.

Read the tips carefully before you play the scenario. (Paper, pen and a calculator might come in handy :lol:)
The scenario 'tips' (full instructions and requirements) are more elaborate than usual. Therefore, they are also available as pdf in the zip file.

NB: You should play with pop-ups turned OFF (In the game, in Settings, under Interface, you can uncheck the box for 'show pop-up messages').
When they ARE turned off, a specific sound will alert you to the fact that you have a message in your tray (certain alerts and 'error messages').
Btw, these files are 'sounds', not 'music'. If, in your settings, 'music' is set to high, and 'sounds' set to low, these sounds will get drowned out.

Along with the scenario, you will need 8 sound files, a background image, and a world map, all included in the zip file.
The sound files goes in this folder: (wherever your game is)\Children of the Nile\Data\Audio\Sounds\
World map (wl_map_khufu_1_1.dds) goes here: ...\Children of the Nile\Data\Graphics\world level\map\
The image (Khufu.tga) goes in the same folder as the scenario.
The zip file is divided into same folders, so it should be easy to move/copy files.

Built and tested on a 2015 Win 10, Intel Core i7, 4.2 GHz, 8 MB Cache, 24 GB DDR4 2133MHz, nVidia GeForce GTX 750Ti 2G DDR5
Runs fine, no lag, no problems.

It will be uploaded to heavengames as well, where it should show up in a day or two.

Can't believe there is a new scenario! Thanks! Been playing off and on for years and years. I made new textures for statues and obelisks which are on this forum too if anyone is interested.
